Cultivation of Good
In a recent discussion on "Perilous World Radio," David Masters and sister-in-law Jan Masters, explored the nature of life on Earth, emphasizing the inevitability of adversity. Jan likened life to gardening, noting that weeds—representing evil—tend to grow more quickly and easily than the cultivated plants, which symbolize good. This observation led to a conversation about free will and divine creation. Jan asserted that although God could have created humans as perfectly loving beings without the challenges of life, doing so would lack the richness that comes from free will. The story of Adam and Eve, often viewed as a tragedy due to the fall, could ultimately lead to a more glorious outcome because of the choices and growth that free will affords.
