Perilous World Radio 08/28/25

Dual Nature

In today’s episode of Perilous World Radio, hosts David Masters and Jan Masters discussed the recent tragic shooting in Minnesota, carried out by a 17-year-old named Robin Wegman (formerly Robert Westman). Wegman expressed deep regret over his gender transition, revealing in his manifesto that he felt brainwashed and wished he had never undergone the change. Jan emphasized the heartbreak that many young people face in navigating such complex issues, while David highlighted the contrast with England, where the government has paused the transition of minors due to negative consequences. This stands in stark contrast to the ongoing practices in the U.S. They both voiced concerns about the psychological toll on children who are encouraged to question their identities and pursue medical interventions. They called for a societal reevaluation of these practices, particularly in light of incidents like this. The discussion shed light on a prevalent issue among parents who, while intending to support their children, may inadvertently lead them astray. This often stems from a more selfish side of parenting, where parents become overly involved in their children’s feelings and challenges. It's crucial for parents to set clear boundaries and to be prepared to say "no" when necessary, even if it results in temporary tantrums. Ultimately, it falls to parents to protect their children from negative influences. Moreover, if parents haven't taken the time to address their own flaws and shortcomings, they might struggle to offer effective guidance to their kids. Making excuses for their own issues can create a cycle in which children also begin to justify their behavior. In the end, addressing these dynamics is vital for nurturing healthier relationships and helping children face their own difficulties head-on..
