Blind And Proud

Roy Masters

One man’s error, repeated and multiplied in every man ever since, has become the recorded history that we know as the Scriptures. Just as it takes more than one fallen leaf to create compost, and much more than one drop of water to make rain, so the collective errors of mankind will one day mount up to form a critical mass of catastrophic proportions.

Such logic is the basis for the Scripture of Prophecy. The Scripture is unerringly accurate in its calculation concerning the future of man, because it is based upon one profoundly simple, ultimately inescapable fact: that man through pride has become a mutation and will continue to slide towards oblivion in running from the truth of what he is.

Observation of the present leads us to an inescapable conclusion concerning the historical past: as it concerns the fall of man. Our helpless, choiceless responses only strengthen that legacy.

From this observation, life presents a picture of an ominous future unless we are somehow rescued, for that same past heritage, repeated in our present lives, points a crooked finger to a future of tragedy and damnation.

If we deeply understand the mystery of how our heritage of past causes and effects accumulate in each present moment, we can find the way out. The chief hindrance to such understanding is culture, which sustains the false identity of pride which we inherit, and pride being what it is, tends to cling to tradition for assurance, and is defensive and resistant to Truth.

The knowledge that can destroy present claims upon your mind and body involves the penetration of the mysteries of how pride came into being, and obtaining self-control over the flesh by an awareness that is growing in the Light of Truth.

"our emotion has made us into

fault-ridden animals, and kept us unconscious to the Truth

Who could save us.. "

Through each present moment, the past moves toward either a future damnation, or salvation. Only the (inner) Divine Presence can lift us out of the morass of our involvement with the present, that is actually the extension of our past poised to become that ominous future.

The Inner Light, alone, can show you more meaningfully all that is written here. True awareness reveals to us how emotional we are, and how wrong that is. Awareness reveals emotion to be symptomatic of a deep flaw in our character.

We see our emotional slavery to be an inheritance, a legacy from the past. Awareness then goes on to inform us how emotion sustains pride, its judgments and illusions about itself. Awareness lets us see how emotion is connected to two things, evil on one end and our falling pride on the other.

We see too, that animal emotion is as hypnotic as it is compulsive. Then, awakening as if from a long sleep, we observe that our emotion has made us into fault-ridden animals, and kept us unconscious to the Truth Who could save us.

Finally, we arrive at a point which has not yet been treated in depth: namely, how emotion reinforces all the prejudices of a racial or cultural identity, and can even go so far as to hypnotize us into believing we are “saved Christians.”
