I think that we all face an Evil reality in this world. Truly, "love is growing cold," and there are many—even in this country—who would strip our Christian faith of all meaning by limiting our right to act on our beliefs. "Separation of church and state" (already an aberration as it is presently interpreted) has now become separation of church and schools, separation of church and media, and, in general, separation of church and American culture. The word "fundamentalist" is used equally to describe believing Christians and Islamic extremists. Something is terribly wrong. Increasingly, in the present political climate, decent people must stand together or fall separately.

We all face a struggle for our religious rights. As many of you have eloquently stated, the problem we face is that our Bible-based morality is coming into direct conflict with what others, in their corruption, proclaim as the new morality. And we have a secular society setting itself up as referee. Ultimately, this country will have to decide what it wants to be: a society based on traditional values or a society built on the sands of moral relativism where anything goes--and usually does. As we know, the latter path leads to death and destruction, and Christians cannot stand idly by.

In this good fight, reasonable doctrinal differences must not keep us from recognizing that we are ultimately fighting for the restoration of a God-centered, Judeo-Christian culture in America. People of good will, as I said before, should work together. I hope to be counted as one who is working on behalf of goodness and decency.

My Ministry
Each of us has a ministry, our part of the body of Christ. I have always felt that our particular ministry at the Foundation of Human Understanding is to reach those who have rejected the church, often out of sheer rebelliousness against the hypocrisy of parents, teachers, or even of a particular minister. The failure of any Christian authority causes great doubt among Christians, some of whom fall away. Some are so hurt that they reject not only the church, but the language of the church as well—the very words that we have traditionally depended on to bring them back into the fold.

Our whole country is falling away from the language of Christendom. It used to be that when someone spoke of "charity" or "suffering" or "sacrifice," most people of Christian heritage knew what was meant. Sadly, that is no longer true. Because of the unusual way in which I came to Christ, I have my own way of explaining the experience, using different words than others use to explain the process of rebirth. But, unorthodox as it is, my teaching seems to be the way some people need to hear the Gospel. And that is good—as long as the end goal is the same. I know now that the "foundation of human understanding" is Jesus Christ. At the core, that is what I teach.

Thank you for taking the time to read this Statement. In the areas you feel I am missing the mark, I would very much appreciate your help. The path I took was a hard one and, as I stated above, I believe it has value to many other searching souls. However, I may need some more pastoring myself before my ministry can be fully realized.
