Alan Masters
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my father Roy Masters, author, teacher and radio counselor to millions worldwide for nearly 6 decades.
Following a storied American tradition, Roy was an immigrant who fell in love with this country from afar. Looking across the ocean from war-torn Britain, he was determined to make the “land of liberty” his home.
Since 1963 Roy Masters has been a radio counselor and for more than 50 years, the foundation he created has served and has continued to serve seekers worldwide on their journey to the eternal Truth that seeks us all.
Despite his rigorous schedule on air and leading his foundation, Masters found the time to write numerous books, covering subjects including Christianity, health, parenting, religion, sex, and stress.
These books, including his famous “How Your Mind Can Keep You Well,” along with his many articles, radio shows and recorded lectures have had their impact as Roy’s continued popularity attests, even after retirement.
A public figure for over half a century, Roy Masters leaves behind not only a great body of work, but also, three generations of Americans, including 5 children, 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
We all grieve this tremendous loss, but also celebrate a great man, a great patriarch and a great American.
We share the grief of the many people across this country and around the world whose lives were changed for the good because of the sacrifice of this one man, dedicated to his God, his family and his country.
We know in our hearts he’ll hear the words we all want to hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”Thank you, Roy, thank you, dad– for everything. Rest in peace. We love you.
