Perilous World Radio 07/28/22

On today’s Perilous World Radio, Alan and David Masters, Mike Jones, and special guest Nick Yarris discuss how social media platforms influence children (and adults) to behave foolishly and even do things that make them want to harm themselves. The guys agree that it’s a lack of loving parental guidance at home that causes the most harm. Nick shares that when he decided to remove himself from social media, the consequence was that people began impersonating him. FOMO is a term Alan uses (Fear of Missing Out), as the main reason people post so much on social media. He says he doesn’t need it except for business. David chimes in and say’s “social media is there to provoke us. The extreme element is now being used as the velvet hammer.” David plays a clip where Michelle Goldberg speaks about Malicious, Muscular Christianity which to Nick, he feels she was provoked to provoke. Alan says we must be careful as to how we react to someone who attacks our beliefs to which Mike Jones comments, “when you react you assume the inferior position.”

As a final thought, Alan reads a quote from Plato, “The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.”
