Yoga Meditation
Many people have reaped the benefits of excellent conditioning and body toning from holding yoga poses and positions. Others turn to yoga because they are seeking the mental clarity that yoga seems to offer. It's not a wise choice, however, since yoga's effect on the brain is only a temporary one.
Many people find yoga helps to restore their bodies to a state of balance and harmony, but you'll need a different kind of meditation to truly escape the hypnotic web of stress, illness, and negative thoughts that cloud many of our lives. Roy Masters has spent the greater part of his life developing a style of meditation called "Be Still and Know" that helps our minds contemplate our thoughts and our lives. "Be Still and Know" can teach you to stop repressing or denying negative thoughts, allowing you to observe them and obtain an objective mental state.
At the Foundation of Human Understanding, we believe meditation is one of the most powerful tools in combating stress and anxiety. We know life can feel overwhelming at times. If you don't do something to relieve stress and anxiety, it can have a lasting impact on every aspect of your life.
We believe in long-term solutions and tools for dealing with stress as it occurs. Our "Be Still and Know" meditation practices complement the physical benefits of yoga, and can also be practiced independent of other physical centering activities.
