How to Survive Your Parents

    You will not concede to pressure, no matter the loss or gain. This is the manliness that evokes the respect of the real women. Suddenly grace appears and disgrace disappears.
     There are two forces working inside you. One loves the Truth, and the other does not-because the Truth threatens its needs. Selfishness may claim to love the Truth, for appearances' sake may "agree" with it, or even go so far as to preach it; but in practice it never gives up the fun and adventure of the egotistical life. And that is why intrigue flourishes.
     For standing on principle, you may well lose the ego ­support of the approval of friends, or even of sex privileges with your wife. Suffer such rejection, and in trembling receive grace. Fearful of losing worldly benefits, no Mr. Nice can come shining through, simply because a selfishness-beast is all there is of him. His entire existence depends on cultivating the wrong in the woman in order to use it. Therefore recognize your need is not true love. Neutralize that need for acceptance, and be neither troubled nor resentful in the face of rejection; Only the real man can successfully undergo this trial. If you will, be that man, and in time, to your astonishment, you will discover you have gained your family's love and respect; because that quality appearing in you through your trial is what every woman and child is really seeking in a husband and father. Once grace exists within you, evil cannot.
    The vanity of a female seeks to possess what it cannot. She wants, loves, admires and respects the man she can never "have"-if you see what I mean. If you give in to her subtle pressures and she "gets" you, she cannot then feel respect for you, and a woman needs to respect her husband.
