Truth of love, and in a God of love, but he takes it to mean that He loves us as we are, in an ego-supportive way. As a result, this kind of "believer" never changes his heart. Instead, he converts the message in all the high­ sounding words into a meaning that serves his pride. He prides himself on a knowledge of Scripture, thinking that by knowing good, he is as good as God. The only change he might make in his behavior is a change from being an ordinary drunk to being drunk on words. But a drunk is a drunk. He remains subject to the same rotten spirit, though he flies a different flag.
     The pride of man is rooted in the spirit of deceit through the medium of knowledge-the knowledge of good or the knowledge of evil. The meaning behind lofty and holy words is perverted to serve man with an idea of his own greatness rather than to reveal the Spirit of Truth, the purpose for which they were intended. Even when the proud religious man feels guilt, he fails to see that he is guilty of playing God. He twists the guilty feeling to mean that he is not feeling as good about himself as he should; so he engages psychopaths to feed his particular delusions with lies of "truth" to buoy him up with more verses and chapters.
     Bear in mind that when you speak honestly, with conviction and meaning, you threaten the very existence of the prideful. So expect them to purple the air with confusion, excuses, distortions, and words out of context, to change the subject and utter downright lies about what they supposed you to have said. Remember that their faith and very existence depend on making you doubt yourself. If you give in to doubt, it allows
