Anger Management For Children
How did your parents teach you to deal with anger? Were you forced to choke it back, swallow it down, and appease? Were you sent to your room to stew in your own juices? Perhaps you were mocked, or ignored, or even physically abused. Any of these or other terrible techniques probably left you with the inability to deal with your own anger. Don't you want something better for your children?
The best way to teach your kids how to deal with their anger is to show them the correct way you deal with yours. And you can learn that correct way by using the meditation technique, "Be Still and Know," developed by Roy Masters of the Foundation of Human Understanding.
"Be Still and Know" shows you how to get to the root cause of your anger. Often, anger is a conditioned response instilled early in life. To avoid engraining such negative conditioning in your children, use the guided meditation to search out, understand, and neutralize your anger. This is not repressing or stifling anger, but rather a means of ridding yourself of that emotion and replacing it with objectivity.
Anger is useless. It solves nothing, it doesn't make you feel better, and it causes you to lose control of your behavior. And it's worse than useless: it's dangerous. When in the grip of anger, people make poor decisions, hurt themselves and others, and lose the grace of God. Wrath is one of the deadly sins, and for good reason. Help your children deal with their anger by learning to deal with yours.
